Luckington Community School is a rural school, serving the village
of Luckington and the surrounding area. We work closely with
Luckington Pre-school, who share our site. Originally a Victorian
building, the school has been extended recently to include a modern
hall and reception area/library. A new computer suite was set up
last year, with 10 pc’s. Both classes have interactive Smart Boards.
We currently have 46 pupils in 2 classes. There is
a high adult: pupil ratio, with 2 full-time teachers, a High Level
Teaching Assist, another part time TA and a head teacher who teaches
in both classes. The school is at the heart of the local community
and benefits from very supportive parents and governors. Pupils are
very well-behaved and keen to learn. Their attainment is good. We
are a small, hard-working staff with the highest expectations. We
are passionate about teaching and learning and determined to make
our curriculum as creative as we can, whilst maintaining the highest
standards in core subjects. We link with other small schools in the
area for a variety of activities, such as sports tournaments, music
festivals and a residential visit.
